AREA15 continues its expansion within its immersive art and entertainment district with a brand-new restaurant. The latest eatery, Kaia Handroll, gives a unique contemporary spin on the traditional Japanese style of sushi handrolls.
Having worked with Kaizen Sushi and Momo Sushi, Chef Joesph Soto joins as a head chef alongside sous chefs Juan Laguana and Christopher Soldivieri. Together the three amazing chefs curated a tasty menu with excellent offerings, such as lobster truffle, blue crab, and bluefin tuna. These specialties are available alongside classic and vegetarian options for the guests.
Visitors can enjoy other delicious options outside these delectable dishes, such as seasonal sashimi and Japanese Caesar salad with furikake-parm crisp. There is a wide variety of mochi for desserts and Japanese cheesecake with passionfruit caramel. For drinks, Kaia offers Japanese classics such as hot green tea and sake, as well as Japanese beer and whiskey.
With its name meaning “from the sea,” Kaia draws inspiration from the water element in its interior design. The restaurant features an entire wall of AI-generated artwork depicting powerful female characters. In addition to that, Kaia boasts water-inspired décor and countertop bar seating.
The restaurant is also immersive by combining augmented reality (AR) technology to create a spectacular dining experience. Guests can use their cell phones to activate a unique AR moment on Kaia’s menus. After downloading the restaurant’s app and scanning a code, computer-generated characters, including Kaia and sea creatures, will spring to life on the physical menu.
Kaia Handroll is in the center of AREA15’s SPINE next to Oddwood Bar and The Beast by Todd English. Open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight.
