Oscar Wilde Wrote His Brilliant Work From This Luxury London Hotel

If I told you that you could soak up Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf, and Winston Churchill’s energy right now, would you pack your journal and head over to Hotel Cafe Royal in London? Because that’s where it’s at. It’s been the preferred destination for creatives for 150-years.

Even David Chipperfield, Albert Adrià David Bowie, and Mohamed Ali were often seen there. Hotel Cafe Royal is the hotel where Bowie retired the Ziggy Stardust alter ego in 1973 at his go-away reception “The Last Supper” inside the Hammersmith Odeon, which saw the likes of Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, and plenty others according to the hotel.

Bowie he even has a lounge named after his retired alter ego called “Ziggy”. The cocktail list includes drinks like “Tiger On Vaseline” and “Darkness and Disgrace”

The go-to destination for Oscar Wilde at Hotel Cafe Royal has now been renamed as the Oscar Wilde Lounge for afternoon tea. It’s a stunning baroque-style room making it the perfect Instagram backdrop and intimate space to write the next great work of American poetry.

Hotel Cafe Royal has been serving delectable food, wine, champagne, and stimulating conversation so much so that Winston Churchill favored that amongst their steaks. But, it doesn’t stop there. According to the hotel, the tradition still lives on through it’s newest team of celebrated chefs like Chef Albert Adrià and the lot.
