Lexus Takumi Masters are the literal driving force behind their high-performance luxury auto vehicles.
“It has been said that cars are built by machines, but Lexus vehicles are built by people,” said Cooper Ericksen, the luxury vehicle companies’ vice president of marketing.
The 19 senior craftsmen that make up the Takumi Masters hold 25-years of the luxury vehicle’s unique craftsmanship training to ensure all aspects the vehicle are flawless. They
a rare blend of skill and spirit who will stop at nothing to achieve precision and excellence in their work.
“At Lexus, we believe craft is measured not only by product quality, but also by the quality of the emotions it evokes. Takumi is the highest honor within Lexus’ engineering ranks – from extensive track testing, to titanium engine components, to aerodynamically sculpted bodies, painstaking attention to detail is paid to each of Lexus’ high- performance vehicles,” said Ericksen.
The LC 500 is an example of their dedicated craftsmanship, for example: 1) it takes one hour to stitch a single shift knob, 2) no less than 700 inspection points are evaluated, and 3) every team member spends as much as 20 minutes working on each vehicle, remarkable considering other facilities measure an individual’s work time in seconds.
But don’t believe me. Just take a look at this combination of relentless attention to detail and high-performance in their new national marketing campaign called “Performance, Crafted Extremes”.
