As a city girl, the charms of country living do not escape me. When Tita shared with me that she pictures herself in the South of France one day raising and caring for animals, I thought of a great outfit she could wear but that’s not all that came to mind. Lone Pine Ranch has been atop my bucket list recently because I’m desperate to make my “Raven Symone and Hannah Montana go to the farm” moment happens.
The 27,000-acre is made up of three ranches located in Northern California whose history precedes itself; it was once owned by stockbroker giant Mr. Dean Witter, a man I grew up hearing about from my dad.
He must have been a man who sincerely appreciated wildlife because the ranch is home to elk, deer, bears, and quail. There’s no shortage of hilltops at Lone Pine Ranch for morning hikes or a splash with friends and family during the spring and summer seasons by the ranch’s own river.
The $31 million ranch, currently up for sale, is equipped for cattle care or other animal rescue sanctuaries and it includes barns, sheds, and corrals to accommodate your horses or other farm friends.
The house you’ll be living on the property was built in the 1940s and its 5,300 grounds have 10 bedrooms and five baths complete with cozy and rustic fireplaces for s’mores or a glass of wine around the fire during winter. Large windows are a game changer for any home because of the natural sunlight that peaks through inspiring you to wake up before anyone to enjoy a cup of coffee alone. Plus, four additional homes and two bunkhouses also make up Lone Pine Ranch. You can Airbnb them or have your family close by gifting them each a house.
