Why Meghan Markel’s Baby Will Not Be Accepting Any Gifts
Meghan Markel went into labor today, and it’s a boy!
“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019,” said the Sussex family’s Instagram account.
Baby of Sussex, whose name is yet to be revealed, weighs an adorably 7lbs. 3oz. But, he may not be receiving any gifts because his mother said so.
Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex both asked friends and supporters to donate to an organization instead of buying gifts for their son. The people positively responded with their request.
“Their Royal Highnesses wanted you to know the impact of your support – the direct effect your donation, energy, and action made! YOU chose to be part of the collective good, and you have made a real difference. Whether a $5 donation, £1000 contribution, offering to volunteer, or spreading the word – you’ve played your part. And on behalf of The Duke and Duchess (and Baby Sussex), we thank you so much,” said the Sussex family’s Instagram account.
Thanks to this mighty outpour of support, four organizations have benefited from these baby shower gifts.
The Lunch Box fund will be providing 100,000 nutritional meals to children across South Africa. The Little Village received donations from the USA, Hong Kong, and the US, volunteer applications, and even the 200+ existing staff and volunteers received a boost of energy from the support they received from people around the world.
Well Child will be able to provide 300+ additional hours of specialist care by a Well Child Nurse. Children at the Well Child are kids with serious health needs with home care, allowing families to stay together at home rather than being at the hospital. Baby2Baby received over 5,000 products to share with children needing cribs, books, backpacks, and diapers in addition to monetary donations from Guadalajara, Mexico to Italy and around the globe.
While Baby of Sussex may have received baby shower gifts from close friends and relatives of his parents, gifts that would have originally been shipped and mailed to the Royal Palace have instead been more impactful to children who are in desperate need of a little love and support.
