KAOS stopped the world for the weekend with a glorious launch to rival any grand opening for the next century.
“Is it a new festival in Las Vegas,” one person asked in the comments on a video with Cardi B gliding through the Palms casino floor in a green feathered outfit and large hat. “No, it’s a new nightclub there, I think. A bunch of other artists were there.”
$690 million worth of renovations also includes buying the best publicity money could buy, which included RSVPing the world’s most powerful media outlets under one (many) VIP boxes and cabana roofs to witness it all and take it back to the newsroom. Anybody that’s anybody was there and if you weren’t, you were foaming at the mouth with major FOMO living through the feeds and InstaStories that helped the Palms shut down the internet in the process.
The Instagram trolls were semi-right for once. Other artists were there but so were some of the equally famous rockstars of culinary like Bobby Flay who opened Shark at Palms, Michael Symon who opened Mabel’s BBQ and the speakeasy Saras both also on property, and Marc Vetri who opened the succulent Vetri Cucina sitting confidently atop the 56th floor.
As for the other artists who made the weekend celebration of KAOS festival-worthy were Alicia Keys. She gave an intimate, emotional, and standing ovation performance at the Pearl Concert Theater on Friday, NEEDTOBREATHE on Saturday, and Hozier on Sunday.
Part of the grand opening itinerary was breakfast (if you went bed to early enough) or lunch, some glamorous over-the-top dinner at night followed by the shows at the Pearl Theater before heading out to see Marshmallow on Thursday. Travis Scott and Skrillex on Friday.
The night everyone was waiting for was Saturday. The main headlines of the weekend were Cardi B, G-EAZY, and J-Balvin. Saturday KAOS dayclub was Marshmellow and Kaskade on Sunday. Closing off the night on Sunday at KAOS the Zac Brown Band.
Seen on the scene at Palms alone, well, how much time do you have? Roll call please: L.A. Reid, Ariel Winter, Amber Rose, Audrina Patridge, Austin Mahone, Cindy Crawford, Dan Bilzerian, Erin Foster, Francia Raisa, Janel Parrish, Jared Goff, Jessica Szohr, Machine Gun Kelly, Matt Sallee,Michael Strahan, Mischa Barton, Mitch Grassi, Nicola Peltz, Nina Dobrev, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Randee Gerber, Reggie Bush, Ryan Sheckler, Scheana Shay, Scott Hoying, Xzibit, and many more.
The key theme here was power, ambition, world domination, and influence. KAOS and Palms aren’t asking to be re-welcomed into the hospitality world nor are they asking for a co-sign from other nightclubs and dayclubs on the Las Vegas Strip, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Palms is rewriting the rules for everyone else and is setting a new standard. The throne is theirs for the taking.
