Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak Is The Steakhouse You Didn’t Know You Needed

Your dining adventure starts as soon as you walk through the front door of The Mirage (from valet). You’ll be greeted with the most green you’ll see in this desert landscape of a city. There’s a waterfall, there are palm trees and green shrubbery that transports you to your privately owned island. It totally sets the mood before you get to Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak in Las Vegas.

After you walk by the free-flowing waterfall (and hopefully take a cute picture for the ‘gram) you’ll come across Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak. At first glance, you’ll see the hostess stand, the open facing walk-up bar, and high tables. Let’s just say it’s not your average steakhouse look. You know, dark yet charming, smoky yet mysterious? This peaked my interest. What was I about to get myself into? Where’s the fancy waiter named Charles? Where’s the businessman smoking his Cuban with his client? But then again, this isn’t your average steakhouse.

2. The Look and Feel

Once you greet the hostess, they’ll take you back to this magical land I like to call paradise. They have an open kitchen layout where you can take a peek at what the chefs are cooking up (trust me, it’s not illegal to look or stare for that matter). Then there’s the layout of the restaurant. This place feels like you’re dining on the patio of your dreams. Here, it’s like Hawaii is your backyard. The only thing missing is sky high coconut trees and a colorful toucan named Sam.

Next, you’ll sit down at your table, where the chairs feel like something made from a cloud and your waiter will come over and grace you with two heavenly menus. The first one will be full of an extensive and exquisite, wine, beer and cocktail list. The second will be a menu full of delicious dishes that seem to be tailored to your taste buds. And if you’re a wine connoisseur, which I know you are, ask for a wine pairing recommendation after you order. There’s nothing like tearing through a tender steak accompanied by a perfect red.

If you don’t own a tropical island yet (keyword being yet), Heritage Steak will be the closest thing you’ll get until then.
