Exclusive First Look At The $450 Million Park MGM Renovations

Park MGM Main Lobby CARRA Magazine

Hotel facelifts are an uncommon thing in Vegas. Usually, hotels end in implosions like the old Aladdin and Riviera. So to hear that MGM Resorts International was going to renovate the Monte Carlo into the Park MGM with a $450 Million rennovation budget, my eyebrows raised and no thanks to plastic surgery this time. The outcome? Let me break it down for you.

The Look & Vibe Park MGM Main Lobby CARRA Magazine

“Who is their interior designer? I must have them for when I buy my next home.”

This is the internal dialogue I have with myself after walking into Park MGM. They have grand art pieces all around you and the décor is off the charts. Walking inside your eyes are treated to what I’d like to call an earthy chandelier. And before you ask, no it’s not used for a reenactment of a scene from “Tarzan.” It’s the bottom of an old tree that looks like it’s expanding on the ceiling throughout the lobby. You must visit just to see this in person.

After you get over this marvelous piece, you’ll see that there are no huge check-in lines or a long desk of clerks. That’s because they used something I like to call technology, and thank goodness. To expedite the check-in process, the kiosks grant you keys. Now this is 21st-century hospitality. And if you’re not so great at technology like my great aunt Bessie, don’t sweat it. Someone is at the ready to help.

As you walk around the resort after dropping your luggage off in your room, you’ll start to realize that this doesn’t feel like your regular Las Vegas hotel. It’s sleek, and it feels like a spa resort getaway where you’re detached from the rest of the world. In other words, just the way I like it and just the way it should be.

The rooms excel in artwork, prime amenities, and comfort. The “stay-well” amenities include air purification system, a mood-boosting aromatherapy set, and a vitamin c shower infuser. Insert the gasping yellow and blue gasping emoji because I am living for these rooms.

Leveling Up The Palate

Monte Carlo was lacking in memorability as far as the palate goes, but what they’ve created now at Park MGM through Juniper Cocktail Lounge and Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar will make your taste buds tingle for dayssss. (Not really though because that would be gross and unsanitary, but you get the point.)

Bavette’s delivers succulent steaks and even better seafood. They have “Primrose” that gives you a taste of les France. And they’re bringing in famous L.A. Chef, Roy Choi, to man the kitchen. Along with all of that, they are creating their very own market with cafes and to-go counters that will be named EATALY. Clever.

At Juniper, you’ll get this upscale vibe that offers sweet libations. You would think that you are in Portland or New York with what they offer. All these food and beverage offerings add a certain upscale sheik element that I love when it comes to luxury.

My Final Thoughts

Park MGM has stepped up the hotel game. This hotel is on “fleek” and you’d be a fool if you didn’t book your stay here. Have you LOOKED at their pool? It’s South of France inspired.
