It was like Halloween in July and I was in heaven. Actors were too dedicated to their roles they they never broke out even when random people would walk into their rooms uninvited. This was the Jack Daniel’s House 7 Las Vegas immersive event.
But unless you had the special secret code to receive admission, there was no way you’d get access. No tickets were being sold.
“Can I bring two friends,” my plus one asked.
Uh, no? Lol. I went solo.
Jack Daniel’s completely shut down the entire Thunderbird Hotel and had actors in full and unbreakable character.
I ran into someone I know. I met her once, but thought I had made a good-enough lasting impression for her to remember me.
I felt confident in approaching her, but quickly learned I was wrong.
“Miranda! Miranda!” I trailed after her.
“Why is she in a bride gown,” I thought to myself.
“I’m sorry. I’m not Miranda, but I’m getting married! Will you attend my wedding?”
“Oh? I’m sorry,” I said with confusion. “You look like someone I know. Are you her sister?”
“I don’t have a sister! Come to my wedding! It’s at 10pm and then 11:30pm.”
“Ahh. I see. Got it. Sure, I’ll attend.”
The joke was on me. It was in fact Miranda. She DM’d me later to apologize.
You were to go through the entire place and open all doors. If it opened, you were in for a surprise: a bride (not Miranda), her bridesmaids and her bachelorette party.
In another room, there was a rapper and his beatboxing companion spitting custom bops with your name and three topics of your choice.
And guess who else was at the Jack Daniel’s event? Flavor Flav, Allan Houston, and Alonzo Mourning.
