The Beverly Theater A New Indie Film House Announces Grand Opening

The Beverly Theater, a new forward entertainment venue debuts its grand opening with a premiere week of events from March 3-7, 2023. Set to be Las Vegas’ only indie film house, storytelling headquarters, and intentional live music venue is the brainchild of philanthropist Beverly Rogers. Furthering The Rogers Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting the arts.

“Our city has never had a true art house and my hope is that The Beverly Theater provides an opportunity for people to see and experience things they haven’t yet been able to see in Las Vegas,” said Beverly Rogers, Chairman of the Board, The Rogers Foundation. “As a faithful supporter of the arts, it’s important to me to make sure the community has access to a permanent home for independent film and artistic expression.” 

Lights, Camera, Action

Starting off the celebrations is a VIP red-carpet special presentation of Sundance-screened Past Lives on Friday, March 3. A Korean romance film wherein Nora and Hae Sung, two deeply connected childhood friends, are wrest apart after Nora’s family emigrate from South Korea. Created by writer-director Celine Song, starting Greta Lee and Teo Yoo, and produced by Killer Films

Following the premiere, a public Q&A with Oscar-winning producers Pamela Koffler and Christine Vachon (Killer Films) moderated by Amanda Fortini with an Open House celebration after. 

A Flick and it’s LIT

On Saturday, March 4-Sunday, March 5 The Beverly Theater will continue its grand opening premiere with a public movie viewing and schedule of LIT events with local independent bookstore The Writer’s Block and Black Mountain Institute (BMI). The event is free and open to the public, with LIT events taking place in the theater, courtyard, and at Segue, the modish overlook, and jazz terrace on 6th and complete with a beer and wine bar. 

LIT events will feature reading, author Q&A’s and discussions which include novelist Walter Kirn in conversation with Native American fiction writer Sterling HolyWhiteMountain. A BMI presentation of award-winning writer Percival Everett, BMI fellow reading, a screening of dramatic movie First Reformed and a discussion with the film’s writer and director Paul Schrader, Killer Films and others involved with the compelling film.

The Beverly Theater Goes Live with EKOH 

Closing out the Premiere Week on Tuesday, March 7 will be a live music performance by Las Vegas’ own Ekoh. Bringing his emotional lyrics and hard-hitting delivery, intricate production, and a high-energy live show, Ekoh is the definition of independent music success.  

“We are proud to have built a first-of-its-kind film house and performance theater for the people who live in Las Vegas,” said Founding Creative Director and Chief Experience Officer Kip Kelly. “The flexibility and capabilities of this venue are unmatched. We promised to bring uncommon content and programming to the city, and we intend on delivering.”
