What Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Is Doing To Teach Young People About Art

In 19997, Bernard Arnault, ceo of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton or LVMH, created the LVMH Discovery and Learning Classes: an educational program offered to several dozen schools for children ages 6 to 11.

How It Works

On the days when exhibitions are closed to the public, the designated institutions open its doors especially for children attending the LVMH classes.

How It Helps

During their visits, children are encouraged to closely examine the dozens of art exhibited in order to advance their understanding of art. Enriching their experience through the LVMH Discovery and Learning Classes will expose them to an artists’ universe regarding key artistic concepts, color and composition. The next step is devoted to experimentation using the knowledge gained by attending a workshop where they’ll immerse in the creation process.

Mentoring Young Creatives

The Foundation Louis Vuitton is established to further nurture this approach by developing various introductory programs for young people and their families, or as part of a campaign for schools. A recreational and sensitive approach is presented to children from the age of three in workshops designed specially for them: floating compositions, games of light or “Archi Moi“, an application for adorable and talented budding architects.

Special attention is given to school groups with specific time slots allocated to them outside public opening hours. Classes can discover the Foundation Louis Vuitton at their leisure, from a more specific angle. With the help of their guide, they discover the different areas in the building, the story of its construction and its creation through the “Promenade architecturale” program. More in-depth discovery of the exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art continues as the young people learn more about the universe of internationally renowned artists.
